Julie Rayner

Julie qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1984 and achieved a BSc in health and social care in 2009. Julie spent the early part of her career working in the care home sector, managing care homes and establishing a domiciliary care agency before joining the National Care Standards Commission (the first social care Regulator) in 2002. Following on from the demise of the NCSC, Julie worked as an Area Manager with the Healthcare Commission before becoming a Compliance Manager with the Care Quality Commission. Julie left the world of formal regulation in 2013 to return to the adult social care sector as a compliance and quality director for a care home company located in the North East of England. In 2015 Julie joined Hallmark Care Homes as Care Quality Governance and Compliance Director.
The role of Care Quality Governance and Compliance Director at Hallmark Care Homes perfectly aligns with Julie’s passion of ensuring older people receive high quality, relationship centred care that not only meets, but exceeds their and their families’ expectations. Julie firmly believes in every older person’s right to live their life on their own terms whilst having the opportunity to have new adventures, learn new skills, develop new relationships and enjoy life to the full.
